My School
My school is (not) very new and modem and (but) it is very conformable and all the pupils like it very much, it is really home for everyone, who studies there. It has three (four, five, two) floors. The classrooms are light and high. There are classrooms for practically all the subjects — English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Literature, <.tc. There is a computer class in our school, where pupils study computing, one of the most important subjects nowadays. Our school has a gymnasium and a sports ground. Many pupils are fond of sport and they have a good opportunity to go in for difi'erent sports there.
Our schcol has got a library. It is on the grou<ul floor. There are a lot of interesting new an<1 old books in it. 13ut our library has no reading-room.
There is a school hall in our school, too. i<<lcetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place there. We organize concerts„parties and we celebrate our holidays., 'pils of our school sing songs and dane modern and folk dances and perform so<!e plays there. The last bell is organized at our school in a proper way. It i" a very remarkable day in the life of all the pupils. The pupils of the i)rat form and tlm pupils of the eleventh one are preparing' for this <lay with great pleas«re. The teachers' room is on the second floor. There are tables and chairs for teachers, a TV set and a telephone there. It is a con< fortable and cosy roo<n and the l,cachers like to spend their free time in it. My favourite sublects are Russian and English. I also like literature. I am good at, these subjects and usually get good n<arks in them. I work hard at English lessons: <.ead and translate texts, make
up dialogues, do a lot of exercises, but best of all I like different tests, I am fond of grammar. But I am poor at chemistry. I always fail to learn formulas and terins properly. I like my class, everybody is so friendly easy to get along with. I am on good terms with my class mates and we often spend our free time together.
I think that the most important role of school is giving knowledge. I can say that my school gives such knowledge, and that's why I'm happy at school. Most of my teachers have a lot of teaching experience; they understand very well the difficulties of the learning process. They help us to learn all subjects well. They also guide us and advise us on all aspects of our study and life. They share their knowledge and experience with us, and we respond with love.
School is not only a place of education; it is a place where we develop our relationships, increasing tolerance and respect to each other. At school we can enjoy different activities and demonstrate our individual talents.
I like my school very much because I have spent the best years of my short life there. But in spite of it I dislike the whole system of education.
You see, it is almost impossible to enter a University without helping of the tutors because the knowledge we get at school is not enough for it.
What concerns my school the pupils are not free in their choice of the subjects. And they are forced to study the subjects they are not interested in and it takes ihnn ioo much time to learn the subjects unnecessary for their future life. They could spend this time working on the subjects which will be needed for their future profession. I think too many pupils study in every class. Most of them sit far from i he blackboard. And sometimes they can't see what is written on it. It causes diseases connected with eyesight. Besides, our teachers can't pay attention to everybody at their lessons. It would be better to have from 10 to 15 pupils in the each class. In spite of all these difficulties I like my school and I will always look back at my school years as the happiest in my life.
